Let's celebrate! The Productive Projects of Grupo Restaurantero Gigante (GRG) celebrate 20 years of constant work, generating positive impacts on society and the environment through sustainable and socially responsible productive projects. There are 20 years of effort, dedication and commitment, which have allowed GRG to consolidate itself as a benchmark in the food products market and in the promotion of sustainable and inclusive development.
After its great work with artisanal Middle East Mobile Number List honey , in 2005, GRG and Productos Nutricionales de la Rosa established a strategic alliance with the objective of developing a second productive project that would expand its offer in the food market. Today, after 18 years of working together, is a good time to reflect on the positive impacts they have generated thanks to their business relationship.
Mole and Granola with social impact, products of excellence
As a socially responsible company, one of the great objectives of Grupo Restaurantero Gigante ( GRG )—which operates Restaurantes Toks, Shake Shack, Beer Factory, El Farolito and Panda Express—is to improve the quality of life and the economy of the most vulnerable communities in Mexico. Therefore, it has positioned products, such as mole and granola, with social impact, to support small producers to be recognized in the market.
In this way, the Mole Doña Yolanda and Granola San Felipe project led by GRG and Productos Nutricionales de la Rosa has had a great impact on the community of San Felipe del Progreso in the State of Mexico. Since its creation in 2005, it has benefited more than 250 people , mostly Mazahua indigenous women who actively participate in the production of these foods.
And, thanks to the support of GRG, Productos Nutricionales de la Rosa has become a clear example of a microenterprise that has managed to consolidate itself in the market thanks to its focus on the production of nutritious and quality foods. Since they have followed a work philosophy in which they carefully select the ingredients and production processes, to guarantee quality and food safety.
Thus these two emblematic products reflect the tradition and gastronomic richness of Mexico and have even managed to consolidate themselves in the national market. Therefore, this productive project is proof that food production and support for small businesses can generate positive impacts on communities and the environment.
Mole and Granola with social impact in communities
Growth of this productive project
The alliance between GRG and Productos Nutricionales de la Rosa, as we have already mentioned, focuses on the production and distribution of two star products : Mole Doña Yolanda and Granola San Felipe. Mole Doña Yolanda is a condiment for typical dishes of Mexican cuisine, while Granola San Felipe is a healthy and nutritious food that can be enjoyed as a snack or as an ingredient in cooking recipes.
In addition to consolidating Productos Nutricionales de la Rosa in the market, this project has generated employment and economic opportunities for the Mazahua community, since both products are made in an artisanal way, which means that qualified labor is required for their production. Additionally, this collaboration has allowed GRG to give back to the communities where they operate through social and environmental programs.
«I want to thank GRG for these 20 years of being able to collaborate together, which have given us the opportunity to serve the people who visit these restaurants every day. […] It has been a wonderful experience, which has changed the lives of families and people, in terms of education and we are very happy.
Belén Villegas, supplier of mole and granola from the Municipality of San Felipe del Progreso.
